In the early 19th-century, Milan was the most active Italian city in the publishing of books. There, collectors, librarians, scholars of ancient literature and young men of letters were protagonists in an intense activity of publishing classical texts. New editions of Divina Commedia, Petrarch's Rime, Boccaccio's Decameron, Ariosto's Orlando Furioso, Tasso's Gerusalemme Liberata and of many works by writers of the 18th century were published in Milan, in particular by Società Tipografica de' Classici Italiani (Italian Classical Writers' Printing Society). In a period rich in cultural and linguistic debates, even discussions on the procedures for publishing texts took on a new importance. By analysing the statements of the editors, investigating their textual choices, following their polemics, Alberto Cadioli, one of the well-known Italian textual bibliography scholars for the modern texts, underlines the importance of the «sana critica», the «sound criticism» - i.e. the philological practice, according to the language of that time - with which classical texts were published in Milan in the first decades of the 19th century. This book, that offers unknown data and a large documentation, reveals theoretical unexpectedly Modern observations and methodological indications, hidden in pages forgotten for many years.

Il volume raccoglie i contributi di studiosi dell'opera di Claudio Magris al fine di arricchire il dibattito critico, con uno sguardo specifico alla dimensione interdisciplinare e al continuo dialogo della sua attività con le principali tradizioni letterarie europee. Ne risulta uno studio complessivo sulla produzione narrativa, saggistica e teatrale dello scrittore triestino, volto a restituirne l'identità plurale e prismatica: dalla narrazione sui luoghi all'ineludibile tensione ideologica; dagli alfabeti filosofici al peso della Storia; dalla riscrittura del Mito ai rapporti con le altre letterature; dalla filigrana ipotestuale a veri e propri case studies che, secondo una prospettiva diacronica, si soffermano su opere come Microcosmi, Alla cieca, Non luogo a procedere e Tempo curvo a Krems.

Adelia Noferi (1922-2014) è stata tra i più grandi studiosi di Petrarca, Bruno, D'Annunzio, poesia del Novecento, e tra i più raffinati teorici del XX secolo e delle sue poetiche. Questo libro riunisce testi mai prima raccolti, alcuni dei quali risultato di corsi universitari, che riflettono con ricchezza di dottrina e di suggestioni sulla poesia e sulla critica attraverso letture petrarchesche e un avventuroso percorso tra i topoi del bosco in letteratura. Dal locus amoenus al labirinto l'indagine si svolge a livello strutturale, formale, simbolico, culturale e ripercorre forme e snodi dell'immaginario attraverso testi esemplari (da Dante a Bigongiari, a Zanzotto). La seconda sezione, arricchita da un apparato iconografico, contiene profili e testimonianze a molteplici voci, una biografia tra generazioni, la bibliografia completa.
